MAIS UM MOTIVO DE ORGULHO

Athens welcomes today, Friday 17 September at 20:30, the 12th Paralympic Games with a spectacular Opening Ceremony in the Olympic Stadium, where 4,000 athletes, representing a record number of 141 nations, will parade. The lighting of the Stadium’s Cauldron will signal the start of the Games.

The Paralympic Games take place from 17th to 28th September 2004. It is a top-level sports event of equal value to that of the Olympic Games and which for the first time in its history the athletes will not be asked to give any financial sum for their participation.
